ABOUT YONI CARR

In 1958 Yoni started taking Classical Ballet lessons in a town named Chedera in  Israel  while she was at Kibbutz "Ma'aggan Michael" .

In 1960 Yoni joined the "Inbal Theatre" and continued in 1967 with "Karmon Groups". In both groups, Yoni was a soloist and performed around the world with them.

When Inbal took a part in a movie called "The Greatest story ever told" Yoni participated as one of the six dancers who danced in front of the King (Jose Ferrer) with the Director George Stevens (may he rest in peace) Starring Max Von Sidow and Charleton Heston.

Yoni also had solo parts in musicals including:  Jumbo (an Israeli Musical)
My Fair Lady, The King and
I,   and Hello Dolly. During this she taught Jazz in Tel Aviv at the Gertrude Krause dance studio.

In 1973, Yoni studied Ballroom dancing and was certified as a "Dance Educator of America” in New York. She taught in upstate New York at the "Concord Hotel" in the Catskill Mountain Ballroom Dancing, and Exercise classes.

In 1984 Yoni moved to California in and joined the Famous "Arthur Murray dance studio" (Ballroom= Salonim in Hebrew) first as a teacher and later as dance counselor for 10 years. She also worked as an exercise instructor at the famous LA-CASTA hotel and Spa in Carlsbad California.

In 1985 Yoni started an Israeli Folk Dance class at the “Folk Dance Center” which used to be located at “Adam Street San Diego.” together with another class at the Jewish Community Center of Orange County Costa Mesa. 

Yoni also is the director of Israeli Folk Dancing conventions “Camps Yona” in February in Palm Springs California (4 days 3 nights) and “Finjan” on the Labor Day Weekend at the University of Santa Barbara.
